About Alpha Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter
On April 2nd 2015, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated chartered the Alpha Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter in Aurora, Illinois. Seven sisterly women passionate about the principles of Zeta, which are: scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood, blazed a new path as founders of the Alpha Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter. These trailblazers were Chamus Burnside-Savazzini, Deborah Chima, Anna Willis-Jordan, Ramona Walton-Fykes, Jenea Smith, Joyce Sprowl, and Shaunise Thomas.
Since becoming charted, Alpha Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter has made profound impact in serving surrounding communities. We have partnered with local schools and provided resources and assistance at school events. We have supported seniors at local nursing facilities with games, crafts, holiday cards, and personal care packages. We have donated clothes and personal items to women’s shelters. Several other service activities have included serving in the Census capacity, volunteering at food pantry distributions, providing back-to-school supplies, and volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in the Aurora area.
Because of our service through initiatives like Adopt-A-School, Elder Care, Z-HOPE, and supporting the communities in their events, the mayor of Aurora, IL proclaimed January 16, 2020 as Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Day in the City of Aurora.
